Diversion

I was going to actually blog tonight since I’ve severely neglected this place for the last month or so but instead I spent the night ironing.  That’s right, ironing 12 shirts, 2 pairs of capris, and 1 pair of pants.  I find ironing so freaking exhausting!  My feet hurt, my back aches, my arms throb.  Yes, you could make the argument that I am out of shape but that does not change the fact that I am TIRED!  TI — RED!  I think it is probably 40% physical and 60% mental.  Meaning that ironing probably does make my muscles a bit sore, but I am convinced….rather I am convincing myself that ironing is one of the most pointless tasks known to man.  The minute that shirt is taken off of the hanger it will become wrinkled and all my hard work will be for naught.  Therefore, my mind is telling my body that I am exerting energy for no good reason, thus making me even more tired.

The only thing that keeps me coming back to that board is knowing that in the morning, when the husband gets dressed for work, he will tell me how much he loves putting on a nice clean, crisp shirt and thank me for doing it.  Will that make my back hurt any less in the morning?  No.  But it sure is nice to be appreciated.  And I’ll probably remind him of that as I hint at how badly I want him to rub my back and massage my feet.  Ahhhh, and it all comes full circle.
