House hunting

I’ve been spending a lot of my evenings searching through the MLS for potential houses.  The hubby has been such a trooper as I make him pause what he is doing to look at photos on line or to tell me, yet again, how big the rooms are in our condo so I have some sort of reference point as I look at the room sizes in these other houses.  I am just not a size and numbers person.  I mean I know that a 12×12 room is square but is it big enough to fit my bed and all the other crap?

Anyhow, I keep going back to the “dream neighborhood”.  We’ve walked through two houses in that neighborhood that were both out of our price range, but I have a list of 3 or 4 other houses (within our budget) that I want to look at.  This neighborhood has lots of trees and lots of kids.  It is also right next to a large park area with baseball fields, soccer fields, and playgrounds.

Yesterday we ended up walking through another house in another neighborhood.  We’ll call this one the “potential dream neighborhood”.  This neighborhood is still in development so lots of construction still going on.  The house we looked at was a new construction, pretty much what we’re looking for in a layout, and at the top end of our budget.  This place is also within walking distance of a nice park and playground.  To top it off…the neighborhood has a clubhouse with a small playground and a pool.  This one has real potential!

The pin that could burst my little bubble — we need to refinance the flip house & possibly rent it out, finish off the basement in our condo & do some other minor fixes, put our condo up for sale, and sell it.  All before someone else swoops in and steals the house in the “potential dream neighborhood”. I know if it’s mean to be, it will all come together.  And there are other lots in the neighborhood that we could buy and build on, but this one is a perfect location….just a short walk to the clubhouse and on a cul-du-sac.  Keep your fingers crossed!
