We really don’t get out to the movies all that much since having a child.  Which is unfortunate because we used to go to the movies all the time.  Now it just seems that when we do actually get a babysitter, it is because we need to attend some sort of work function, adult birthday party, or meeting.  So we wait until the movie we want to see comes out on DVD and watch it after the kid goes to bed.  Typical for parents of young ones.

This weekend we rented The Invisible and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.  I thought I had a good idea of what The Invisible was going to be about but I was wrong on a lot of the key plot elements.  All in all, it was a pretty good movie though.  Chuck and Larry was pretty good as well.  Not nearly as funny as I thought it was going to be but that could have just been because I was tired.  I’m glad we didn’t waste a “babysitter night” to see either in the theater.

Don’t get me wrong.  Chuck and Larry had it’s funny moments, but I think it is one of those movies that gets funnier the more times you see it.  Much like Robin Hood: Men in Tights and many Saturday Night Live skits.  There are few movies that I think are hilarious the first time I see them.  Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore, and The Rundown top this list.

So, tell me dear internet, what movies are out there right now (rentals or theater) that are worth seeing?  We like a variety of genres so list away!
