Sick days

I (foolishly or optimistically) thought we may be able to avoid the plague of sickness that has been circulating around our friends and family for the past few months, but to no avail. Yesterday evening Abbi threw-up a little and has been just laying on the couch pretty much all day today. Thankfully her fever seems to be pretty low, as it comes and goes, and she has been eating a little (and keeping it all down). The eating thing is such a huge relief because, if she were not eating, we’d be in a bit of trouble. This kid will only drink water. No juice. No milk. So, there would be no hope of getting her nutrients through juice. She has perked up a few times and even manages to smile once in a while. Bless her poor little sick heart!

Tim is also sick. I’m not sure who gave who what, as both he and Abbi are sick at the same time. He came home early from work today and has been sleeping most of the day. He and Abbi are now snuggling on the couch together, both absolutely pathetically cute.

So, that begs the question — What happens if I get sick? Oh Lord, please do not let me get sick. Or at least hold it off until Friday. I’m hoping that my immune system is strong enough to ward off the sickness but I’m doubtful at this point. I’m meeting a new OB tomorrow to talk through the VBAC possibilities and then Thursday we’re going to look at a house. I really don’t want to reschedule either of those appointments. So PLEASE Lord, don’t let me get sick, or, if I must get sick, PLEASE hold it off until Friday!
