Our little cyclist

We bought Abbi a tricycle last year but she really wasn’t ready to ride it until this year. Honestly, it was like a switch flipped and she became a tricycle riding fool. We go for a ride or two every day and she is getting so good at it. So good, in fact, that we’re thinking of moving her up to a bicycle with training wheels. The tough part is that it would be a great birthday gift for her, if her birthday wasn’t smack dab in the middle of winter. I would hate to get her a bicycle, get her all excited about it, and then tell her she can’t really ride it until the snow goes away. This is the part where my husband tells me that we really need to buy the house he wants because it has a huge barn and an extra three-stall garage where she could ride it no matter what the weather.

Regardless of when we actually buy her the bike, I have been having fun just looking around online at the different bikes out there. There are so many to choose from. But I must tell you about one site in particular that I love — Pedal Cars and Retro Collectables. This is a site ran by the same two moms (Susan and Janice) who run the site 5 Minutes for Mom. This is also a site that I love and check daily. They have an amazing blogger list, if you’re every looking for more blogs to read, and are always hosting contests or telling you about contests on other sites. So great!

Anyhow, back to the bikes. Here a few that I fell in love with: Morgan Retro Bike in Pink and the PickUp Trike with CrewCab. The PickUp Trike is awesome because both Abbi and Zoe could ride together! How fun! I’ll let you know what we decide when we decide it. But if you have time and are looking for some great kids gifts, go check out Susan and Janice’s stores: Pedal Cars and Retro Collectables and A Rocking Horse to Love.
