30 x 30 Update – Wii Fit Style

It’s been quite a while so I thought I would give an update on my endeavors to lose the preggo weight. I know, it’s not the most exciting thing in the world to read about but, hey, it’s Saturday and I’m still exhausted from the week.

Surprisingly enough I actually did not gain weight over the holidays. I know! I’m floored too. I even lost a pound or two! I’m not sure how it happened because I certainly did my fair share of partaking in all things covered in chocolate or gravy for a good two months. But hey, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth!

Now that the holidays are well behind us I’ve darn ran out of excuses as to why I’m not exercising every day. My parents even bought me a Wii Fit for Christmas so I have no excuse. No. Excuse.

I have really been trying to cut down on the snacking this month and have been trying to hit the Wii Fit more often. I’ve committed myself to doing at least 30 minutes on there a day. Have you used the Wii Fit? It’s actually pretty fun. I had no intention of that getting me to my goal weight, but then I started unlocking other exercises and higher levels. Right now my forearms are burning from boxing. It really is a fun way to do a variety of exercises. My favorite part right now is the Yoga because, for once, I actually feel like I’m doing the exercises correctly. I can actually see if I’m distributing my weight evenly. It’s great!

So the best part about the doing the Wii? I’ve recruited the hubby. He’s actually doing some step aerobics as I type. It’s a good way for us to spend some time together without sitting in front of the TV debating whether or not to finish off that pan of brownies. Mmmm, brownies.

I have noticed one big thing though as we do our Wii Fit exercises. I’m much more into doing the aerobic exercises and yoga. He would rather do the strength and balance. I have to force myself to do the strength because I know it’s my weakest part (weight, was that an oxymoron?).

Alas, I’m still pounds and pounds away from my goal but am encouraged that I dropped down into a new weight class. Ok, I’m just going to say it. I am below 150 now. It feels so good to make it past those weight marks. I celebrate it and I celebrate every day when I get on that scale and I stay below 150.

Ok, off to watch the hubby master the ski jump now.
