30×30 Update – Shrinking Into Summer

It has been a while since I’ve given an update on my weight-loss endeavors. That is probably because I’m seriously struggling.

I’ve fallen off of the Wii Fit bandwagon. I usually do the Wii in the evenings after the girls go to bed but the last few weeks I’ve been busy with work in the evenings. And, once I lose my rhythm, well, it’s just a struggle to get back on. I’ve also been trying out something a little different than just doing the Wii Fit.

I’ve been going (trying to at least) to a class at the gym one night a week. It is called BodyPump and I really like it. It is an aerobic weight lifting type of class. It’s good. The instructors push us. I need to be pushed! One of the instructors, who I know through work stuff, even emailed me when I missed last weeks class. I need that type of accountability! The problem….it is a night class so, if Tim can’t be home with the girls (like this next week), then I can’t go. Yes, I could get up and haul my butt to the 5:30am class but, well, I have a slew of excuses for that one!

With all my struggles I figured maybe I needed to get a little more accountability. Enter Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans! They are kicking off a new weight-loss challenge this week and I am really going to try to stick to it! It is called Shrink Into Summer. It is an 8 week challenge where each Wednesday I will report in with my weight (hopefully showing a weight loss). Yikes! I actually have to say my weight each week! Nothing like a little slap of reality to kick your butt back into exercise-gear!

So, this is my week 1 report. The scale is currently tipping at 146.5. That means I have 16.5 more pounds to lose before I hit my first goal weight. It seems like an easy enough task but I feel like these next 16.5 pounds are going to be killer. My solution: get back on the Wii Fit, dust off the 30 Day Shred dvd, try to make it to the BodyPump class, and hopefully purchase a jogging/biking trailer so I can take the girls out running with me.

You’re job? Keep me accountable. Drop me some random comments throughout the week asking me if I’ve gotten up off the couch today. Ask me how many times I’ve dipped into the chocolate chip jar! Keep. Me. Accountable!
