Friday Films – Super heros, animation style {GIVEAWAY}

Chop Socky Chooks – Volume One

    I actually watched this dvd and Iron Man (see below) by myself this week because my oldest daughter didn’t seem too interested.  She’s only three and is going through this phase of being scared of random things.  I think the characters fighting kind of scared her.
    I actually thought Chop Socky Chooks was pretty cute and funny.  This two disc DVD set includes 13 episodes of the Award Winning (Gemini Award: Best Animated Program or Series 2008) cartoon from Cartoon Network.
    Three crime fighting chickens (I actually didn’t realize they were chickens at first) put their martial arts skills to the test as they keep the evil Dr. Wasabi in check.  They end up fighting everything from virtual characters in a video game scene to fighting fast-food fiends.
    I think elementary age kids will love this dvd and will definitely be entertained for hours (did I mention it has 13 episodes!!!).  The DVD was released on October 6 by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures – Volume One

    As I mentioned above, I watched this dvd without my girls.  I was interested to see how the animated series would compare to the Iron Man film released in 2008 starring Robert Downey Jr.  And I would say that the animated series is definitely a keeper!
    The dvd begins by showing your child (or you) how Iron Man came to be.  After teen genius Tony Stark’s world is shattered and loses everything, he uses his newly created Iron Man armor (and help from his friends) to learn what happened to his father and becomes a new super hero.
    The Iron Man: Armored Adventures dvd features 6 action packed episodes and some amazing special features.
    I would recommend this dvd to anyone who has young kids who love super heros or comic books!   Iron Man: Armored Adventures – Volume One just hit store shelves earlier this week and would be a great stocking stuffer this holiday season!
