Getting a handle

Wow, so, it’s January. Huh. Look at that. And we entered a new decade. Go figure.

I’ve had a really hard time getting a grip on what day of the week we are on and getting things done these past two weeks. Having Christmas and New Years on a Friday this year totally messed me up. The bonus was that Tim got a lot of time off and we were able to enjoy a lot of family time but that messed me up, too! Don’t get me wrong, I love having my husband home, but I’ve conceded to the fact that I don’t get anything done when he is home. And that’s a good thing. Most of the time.

I don’t know if it was having Tim home and him taking an extra day off or if it was the fact that Christmas and New Years fell on Fridays this year; Maybe it was that we traveled on Christmas this year or that Tim was gone for a few days over New Years. I don’t know what it was but I just had the hardest time getting motivated to work or get my house in order or do laundry or even get out of my pajamas.

But today is Monday. It’s a new year. It’s a new decade. Our schedule is back into swing with ballet starting today and school starting again tomorrow. Christmas decorations are put away, with much opposition from the 4 year old, laundry is started and I have ‘to-do’ lists posted on the fridge. Vegging and slacking over the holidays was great but it’s time to get organized and show those ‘to-do’ lists who’s boss!
