Growing up I remember my Great Aunt Margie making us these little Halloween treat bags for when we came to her house trick-or-treating. They weren’t anything much but they were special. Different. Just for us. I loved that!
As a mom of a preschooler, I love the idea of doing fun little themed treats for her class. I don’t want to just buy a bag of lollipops for her to take to school to give to her friends…I want to make them a little more fun! I’m not a big crafter and I don’t like to spend hours on these projects, but I do like to make these little treats just a little more fun for the kids. After all, I won’t be able to do this kind of stuff forever. I highly doubt she’s going to want to take a crafty treat to Middle School!
So, here’s a cute little idea to dress up those last minute Halloween treats for school or the trick-or-treaters heading your way this weekend!
Lollipop Ghosts

Here is what you’ll need:
- Lollipops or suckers of some sort. We used the Tootsie Pops (less than $3 for a bag), but you could use BlowPops or even Dum-Dums if you wanted smaller ghosts.
- Kleenex — I used the non-lotion type.
- Ribbon or string
- Black Sharpie marker
Here’s what you do:
- Take two sheets of Kleenex, lay them on the table and stagger them just a bit so they are not just one on top of the other.
- Place the lollipop in the middle of the Kleenex with the stick sticking up.
- Wrap the lollipop top in the Kleenex.
- Tie the Kleenex just under the lollipop top around the stick with a piece of string or ribbon.
- Use a black Sharpie marker to make some oval eyes and mouth.
It took us about 15 minutes or less to make 20 ghosts and I think the cost (lollipops and everything) was under $10! This is something you could definitely do for all those little trick-or-treaters coming your way this Halloween!
