Thirty-three

A few months ago, I heard about a report that said that Brits were happiest at age 33. This stuck with me, obviously, because I was approaching my 33rd year. I wondered if this were true for Americans as well. For me.

Today I turn 33. And, whether there is truth behind the report or not, I’d like to believe that this year is going to be awesome.

In the Friends United article, psychologist Donna Dawson, said: “The age of thirty-three is enough time to have shaken off childhood naivety and the wild scheming of teen-aged years without losing the energy and enthusiasm of youth. By this age innocence has been lost, but our sense of reality is mixed with a strong sense of hope, a “can do” spirit, and a healthy belief in our own talents and abilities.”

I like that. I think I have shaken off my childhood naivety and, despite chasing around three little kids every day, that I have found an energy for life.

So, being the crazy list maker that I am {hello, meet my Life List}, I’m making a list of things I want to do this year.

  • Say “yes” to family fun more often
  • Ride in a Hot Air Balloon
  • Lose 15 pounds
  • Run a 5K and a 10K {at different times, of course}
  • Take a family vacation to Disney World
  • Learn to ski
  • Find an agent for my books

Doable? I think so! Or maybe there is something else that I should add??

Yay! Thirty-three! Let’s do this!
