Shopping the Back To School Guide

A few weeks ago I wrote about the ISSUU Back to School Shopping e-Guide and, while I’m dragging my feet on this whole back to school thing, my girls are not! They are jumping in. With both feet!

To be fair, Abbi is still not so sure about the First Grade and I’m fully anticipating a rough start to the year. But Back to School shopping? They both think this is the coolest thing. Ever!

New crayons. New pencil boxes. New shoes. New clothes! Shoot, I’d go back to school, too!

When it comes to the clothes bit, well, my girls are not in need. They have a closet full and 90% will carry us through the school year. So, at this time, we do not do an all-out shopping trip {I have such fun memories of those big shopping trips with my mom and sister}. But I do let the girls pick out one very special outfit that they get to wear on the first day of school {often doubling as our school pictures outfit, too}.

Typically we would just shop one of the local department stores for an outfit. Then I find myself picking over the left-over outfits and paying more than I would like.

This year we’re doing it different! This year we are getting some inspiration from the ISSUU Back to School Shopping e-Guide. After looking over the Guide and reading about some of the trends and tips from “the moms”, I clicked over to CookiesKids.com to see what they had in the “back to school” department. I’ve shopped Cookies Kids before but that was for the little man. This time I was shopping for my little fashionistas…they are a little more opinionated on clothes.

So, I let the girls shop with me!

We browsed through dresses and sets. The girls scrolled through, oohing and ahhing over pink dresses and sparkly pants!

Oh mom, I just can’t decide! This is the danger of shopping with my little fashionistas, online or not…They can never decide on just one! And who can blame them. Everything is so cute when they are that age! Next thing I knew, our *shopping cart* had gone from one outfit each to two, plus a cute Hello Kitty shirt I found on Clearance! Abbi chose a dress and a skirt set, while Zoe chose adorable pants sets, one with her beloved Rapunzel!

With the prices at Cookies Kids, I had no problem getting the girls an extra outfit. I spent that and more on one outfit last year. And these ones are super cute! Also, I used our fabulous discount code from the ISSUU Back to School Shopping e-Guide and got the $5 flat rate shipping! Awesome savings!!!

After the outfits arrived, the girls could hardly wait to see them. And then, of course, try them on!

I think these kids might just be ready for school! Or at least they could play the part!! I kind of love Back To School shopping!

Don’t forget to check out Cookies Kids for your Back to School needs. And visit them on Facebook and Twitter!
