I’m always amazed at how a crew of people can completely transform the Van Andel Arena. Just two weeks ago we were there watching our favorite Disney Characters and Princesses skate on a stage of ice. Then, last night, we arena took on a whole new look as the Monster Jam trucks took the “stage”!
This was our first time at a Monster Jam show so I wasn’t sure how the kids would do. But, armed with their ear protection, they were in awe from start to finish!
Not only does the Thunder Nationals show include thrilling wheelie and head-to-head competitions, but they also feature stunt bikes, this crazy jet-powered quad, and a transformer show!
The girls were pretty pumped to learn that the driver of this truck, El Toro Loco, was a girl! Because, Mom!!! Did you see that a girl was driving? Girls can drive Monster Trucks, too!!!
Tim was just a wee bit excited to see one of his childhood favorites tonight, Grave Digger, while Talon thought the fork-lift truck that moved the demo-cars around was the coolest thing possible (he’s pretty easy to please).
If you’re in Grand Rapids this weekend and looking for just a fun time out with the family, you can still catch the Monster Jam Thunder Nationals! See them today at 2pm and 7pm or Sunday at 2pm!
