Sleeping Beauty Sleepover

With last week’s release of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty on DVD and Blu-ray, now is a great time to host a #DisneyBeauties inspired sleepover!!!

And here’s the thing…your kids are going to think you are so super awesome and it’s going to take very little work for you to pull this off!

1. The Movie

Of course a Sleeping Beauty Sleepover needs the Sleeping Beauty DVD. Kids will love reliving each and every moment of Aurora’s adventure, from meeting her prince to her sleeping slumber to defeating Malificent! And, if you pick up the Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition DVD from Walmart, your #DisneyBeauties will also be able to design their own Disney fashion adventure with the bonus DVD and sing along to Beauty-Oke!!

2. Snacks fit for a princess

And what movie would be complete without some snacks?? Princess inspire snacks are super easy! Cupcakes with a little added crown. Chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles. Popcorn sprinkled with edible glitter. The possibilities are endless!!! And the best part is you can go as simple or extravagant as your budget and time allow.

Oh, but here is a must-do that your kids will love! We like to call it “Sleeping Potion Punch”. Pour a small glass of Sprite and then add a pinch or two of cotton candy to the glass. The reaction of the cotton candy combining with the Sprite looks like your very own potion:

3. Dress like a princess

Again, this is all about making it as simple or as extravagant as you like. You can ask your guests to come dressed in their favorite princess dressed or princess pajamas or provide some dress-up stuff for them. Walmart carries a variety of Disney Princess accessories and toys. My girls were thrilled to not only dress like a princess but also get their very own Palace Pet to “take care of”.

Then you can add those Disney Princess accessories to pieces like a no-sew Princess tutu or these really cute Princess hair cut-outs. Set-up a princess hair-do station where the girls can get curls or a fun princess-bun with tiara. Move along to the nail station and add some color and sparkles to their fingers and toes. Endless. Possibilities.

Done! Three easy steps and you have just made some little princesses over-the-moon happy!

What would you add to the perfect Sleeping Beauty Sleepover

  • You are such an amazing mama to those darling princesses.

  • You are such a great mama! I love the ideas for a sleepover party! Anything that glitters is a good thing in our house! I love the potion! I made an adult beverage in May that used cotton candy and it’s so cool because it really does mix itself! #client
