I often feel like once November 1st hits, it’s GO TIME! The holiday season has officially started and calendars quickly fill up with dinners and parties and family stuff and school functions and on and on. And, while we really try to keep our holiday season as low key as possible, there’s always going to be the busyness surrounding it.
So, to help keep my sanity during this time, I like to keep as many things as simple as possible. And this recipe is definitely one of them! Only six ingredients and very little prep time, it’s one of my Go-To desserts whenever I need to bring something to an event (family or friend) or send something yummy to school or the office.
Like I said, only six ingredients and you can snag most (if not all) right in the convenient Holiday Bake Center located in the center aisles of your local Walmart! And because this recipe uses items found in the Kraft Bake Center, it’s a really budget-friendly recipe for the holidays!
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
- 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups finely chopped BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
- 1 1/4 cups BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut
- 1 cup KRAFT Caramel Bits
Getting started ~
Step 1 :: While your oven is preheating to 350°F, mix your melted butter and graham cracker crumbs in the bottom of a 9″x13″ baking dish with a fork. Make sure they are mixed well together and spread the mixture along the bottom of the dish, covering the entire bottom.
Step 2 :: Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk overtop of the graham cracker mixture, being sure to completely cover the graham cracker mix.
Step 3 :: Sprinkle on the finely chopped BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate. Then sprinkle on the KRAFT Caramel Bits. Give them a slight push into the sweetened condensed milk. No need to push them entirely down. You just want them all to be nice and cozy together.
Step 4 :: Sprinkle on the BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut.
Step 5 :: Bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until the coconut begins to slightly toast (i.e. looks like it’s getting slightly brown and crispy).
Step 6 :: Allow your bars to cool, if you can wait that long. Then cut into bars and enjoy. And because these bars are so quick and easy to make, you can make another pan to take to the event you were supposed to make them for to begin with. Because you know your family isn’t going to want to let these ones leave your house!
Easy. Peasy. Done! From shopping for the ingredients to making the bars, it’s all very simple and won’t take much time at all! You can also play around with your bar toppings. If you’re not a fan of coconut, leave it off! Maybe add some chopped nuts or peanut butter chips. Have fun with them!
