Last year Abbi and I made this little Nativity scene, inspired by the clay pot Nativity craft from GRKids.com. This year, we are adding to our Nativity by creating some shepherds and sheep. Specifically we are creating 2 of each because Zoe is old enough to participate. Let’s get started!

Every year we take the kids to see Santa. We’ve fallen into a pattern of taking them to see Santa at Home & Company each year. He is such a great Santa! I wrote all about why we go there last year. So, this year I’m just going to share the pictures with you! The [...]

Merry Christmas, Katie! You just one an Interactive Story Buddy from Hallmark! My girls love books. And they love stories about Christmas! Matter of fact, our books about Christmas stay on their book shelf all year long and often times get read in the middle of the summer, as well this time of year. Their [...]

Having two girls in the house, fashion seems to be a way of life. We range from wanting to wear the most pouffy and frilliest of dresses to pairing the most unlikely of pieces. It is always a gamble when I ask the girls to go to their room and get dressed by themselves. Sometimes [...]
Christmas Traditions: Ornaments
Yesterday I wrote about decorating our tree and I mentioned how the girls love adding their ornaments each year. That is another one of our Christmas Traditions — Selecting an Ornament! This isn’t something we did as kids. I remember my “baby’s first Christmas” ornament {a goldish plated metal ornament of a little baby with some [...]
Christmas Traditions: The Tree
I love Christmas trees! They are what seems to kick-off the Christmas season for me. I have a strict rule, though, that we do not put our tree up until after Thanksgiving. Because, once it is up, we’re focusing on all things Christmas! Our tree went up that first weekend of December and the girls [...]

When I got my first iPhone a few years ago, my oldest daughter was merely a toddler. And I remember sitting in the waiting room at some appointment and letting her play a game on my iPhone. The old lady next to me nosily chimed in, “That’s quite an expensive toy for a kid.” While [...]
Finding balance during the Holidays

I find it strangely comical that I’m writing about ‘finding balance’ as I sit at a table that is so freaking wobbly that it’s driving me crazy! So, balance. Is this even possible during the Holidays? Or do we just buckle to the idea that the holidays are a crazy busy time with running from [...]
A frog and his two princesses
We’ve spent a number of Halloweens with the Folletts since, well, before they were officially “the Folletts”! Before we all had kids, we used to spend our Halloweens going to haunted houses together. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure the first time Tara & Scott met was when we drug them both to [...]

I was really bummed when I realized that there were really no Halloween cartoons on tv for the kids this year. Somehow we missed It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! and our only other option in some Shrek show. Sad. I remember there being a lot more shows on tv Halloween weekend/night when I was a kid. [...]
